Every year, dozens of international architecture, design, fashion and digital culture professionals come to the Netherlands at Het Nieuwe Instituut’s invitation to experience Dutch design and its multidisciplinary way of working. The International Visitors Programme promotes international dialogue, cultural exchange, market expansion and the growth of the international professional network.
Since March 2020, physical visits to the Netherlands have been impossible due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the associated restrictions on international travel. Het Nieuwe Instituut is working on a digital initiative that makes international remote exchange possible. This format will be further developed in 2020 and deployed in the longer term.
Before the pandemic, in the first quarter of 2020, Het Nieuwe Instituut welcomed the following international guests:
Angela Chan (UK)
Angela Chan, founder of online platform Worm: art+ecology, visited the Netherlands at the invitation of MAMA through the Open Call of the International Visitor Programme.
From 19 to 23 January, 12 professionals from the cultural and creative sector in Slovenia visited the Netherlands. The visit was organised by Het Nieuwe Instituut in collaboration with Motovila, Centre for the Promotion of Cooperation in the Cultural and Creative Sectors, and DutchCulture.
Carlos Nazareno (PH)

The visit was realised in collaboration with XPUB, the Piet Zwart Institute's experimental publishing programme.
