Each year, dozens of international professionals working in the fields of architecture, design, fashion and e-culture come to the Netherlands at Het Nieuwe Instituut’s invitation to get acquainted with the multidisciplinary way of working that characterises Dutch design. The International Visitors Programme fosters international dialogue, cultural exchange, market expansion, and broadening of the international professional network. In 2017, Het Nieuwe Instituut received the following international guests:

Lilith Zone's games combine dark and lowbrow humour, the serene and the occult, and the sober and the destructible. She is a featuring artist at Festival The Overkill (27-29 October), and will be attending Decolonising Bots at Het Nieuwe Instituut and the Professionals Dinner at Impakt Festival 'Art in Digital Environments.

Paolo Pedercini and Eric Gordon participate in the conference Games for Cities which is organized by Play the City and parters like Het Nieuwe Instituut. The conference takes place at Het Nieuwe Instituut on 20 and 21 April and aims to create a platform for knowledge exchange on games that have the potential to facilitate more effective and inclusive city-making.

A group of digital experts from North Rhine Westphalia and Belgium visited the Netherlands to expand their network in the world of digital culture and learn about current developments in the field. Part of the programme was an expert meeting during the STRP Biënnale in Eindhoven.

Emily Moholo participates in Urban Stories Festival with the topic From Data to Storyline at Pakhuis de Zwijger. This four-day festival looks at urban journalism as a tool to address urban issues, provide a stage for innovative city stories and explore how digital developments help create new ways of storytelling.
